This is our fourth (fifth???) book together, and I will never not be in awe of you. And POST DYSTOPIAN SUPERHERO? This book killed me a million times over.
Love you forever, friend.

I am so honored to have worked on your first ever dark romance, and I can’t wait to do more. Love you 🖤
Sometimes, you just need those friends who will love you harder than you’ve ever been loved for no reason other than just being you.
See you in April, my spoons.

SPICE LESSONS??? Count me IN.
Third year of working with K.C., third year of being feral over her SIXTH MMC. In case you were wondering, her books are crack.
🎈32
31 sucked. I’ll be honest. I lost things, people, opportunities I never thought I’d lose. I lost sight of myself and my goals. I became someone I didn’t recognize. Apparently, capricorns were supposed to go THROUGH IT in 2025, and…that is definitely what happened (check out the last two slides for my feelings about 31).
But I also gained dear friends I never want to lose. I made strides toward the life I want to live and the person I want to be. I grew The Fiction Fix and Pen & Shield beyond my wildest dreams. I traveled more than I ever have. I moved states (again). Oh, and I edited over 100 books and helped dozens of legal clients while putting on a 2000+ person book event.
Not all of these photos are bookish, but I think that’s a good thing. I’m relearning myself, knowing who I am outside of the bookish space while also growing to new heights within it.
I truly cannot wait to see what 32 brings me.
Thank you all for being a part of 31. I hope you stick around for 32.
Happy release day @bekaboowrites 🖤
Every single Beka book has me more and more intrigued. Can’t wait to see what your brain cooks up next! Love you long time

THE FICTION FIX 2025 WRAPPED*
2025 was one of the worst years personally but one of the best professionally. I am so lucky to be trusted with so many incredible stories, and I can’t believe this is how I get to spend my days.
I love you all.
Also, yes, those are the books with the highest NSFW counts. Have you read any of my clients’ books? 👀
*not all books listed. I hold secretsssss
2025 was such a whirlwind. I:
🖤started @bookharvestcon
🖤expanded The Fiction Fix beyond my wildest dreams
🖤leaned into Pen & Shield and brought affordable legal services to the book space
🖤went to California, Seattle, Vancouver, Australia, Toronto, Boston, DC, NY, Arizona, Chicago, and so many smaller places in between
🖤exercised my legal knowledge at 2am like a feral cat (looking at you @hdcarltonauthor )
🖤moved entire states for the fifth time
🖤realized that people who love you show up for you (thank you @hawkhatesyou and @santana.knox love you both long time)
🖤I also got three of my favorite tattoos I’ve ever gotten AND took one of my favorite selfies, so just…enjoy those, I guess. You’re welcome.
GOALS:
I don’t like photos and I don’t take photos- I’m not very photogenic. I’ll try to get better next year, particularly because I don’t have many photos with the people I love. Sorry about that, guys.
I need to get better at answering emails and texts in a timely manner. I blame the unmedicated ADHD, the super busy workload, and my general anxiety about everything. Again, sorry guys.
Most importantly, I met my people. The people who have never made me feel replaceable, who lift me up when I’m sad and celebrate with me when I’m excited. My people till death (and Texas). @mrsagostino_reads @racheltwotimes @jen_actually @amandas.book.journal @andrea.jordan.books @lex.isreading @santana.knox @bookingdowntherabbithole

I absolutely love working with Alexa! There's no one more thorough or meticulous. She’s flexible and reliable, and a joy to work with. She’s authentic and supportive of her clients. I’m grateful she took me on as a new author, and she’s stuck with me until she fires me :)

Working with Alexa was the best decision I've ever made in my publishing journey! She goes above and beyond on every manuscript. That does not stop with just the edits she makes; she is also the biggest supporter for each of her clients, sharing their work and showing her love for them on socials. She is extremely professional, flexible, and her quality of work always amazes me. I have come to know and respect Alexa over the past year, and there is no one I would recommend more.

Alexa is incredible to work with, and I wish I had enough words to describe how much I not only enjoy working with her, but how thankful I am to do so. Not only is she incredibly meticulous, but Alexa manages to take a manuscript from a grammar disaster to publishable gold without replacing my author voice. As a polyglot, sometimes words, phrases, sentence structure, and who knows what else become an absolute tangled mess, but Alexa combs through every word, sentence, paragraph, and chapter efficiently, completely turning them into the best version they can be. It's like magic, and you can't change my mind.

Alexa is the only person I trust with my proof and copy edit. The care she has shown in working with my style and preserving my voice is unmatched. Her understanding of the rules for correct structure, as well as respect and ability to work alongside my style that sometimes falls outside the norm, has been an enormous benefit. There is always a careful understanding of writing as a craft and commitment to bringing my authentic voice to my audience, all while bettering it in process. I will continue to work with Alexa until she kicks me out.
—Raya Morris Edwards

Kind, insightful, and concise, Alexa knew exactly which parts of my manuscript were deadweight and where to prune to ensure my debut story shined. She took my story from something I liked to something I loved! After my experience with Alexa, I knew I had to make The Fiction Fix a routine part of my writing process. Now, I don’t release a book until Alexa has worked her magic on it. Contemporary, paranormal, or romance, it doesn’t matter the genre, or whether you’re a baby author of a seasoned one. Alexa can handle it all with speed and grace.

I absolutely love working with the Fiction Fix! Not only does Alexa do a fantastic job editing, but she’s a great sounding board and the best support system. She helped me so much when I was publishing my first book, and continues to be an asset as I grow as a writer. I cannot recommend The Fiction Fix enough.

Alexa is a thorough editor. She acclimatizes to your writing style, while still maintaining a professional standard. Affordable, meticulous, and communicative!

In all the years I’ve worked within this industry, Alexa is by far one of the best professionals I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Not only for her thorough editing skills, but also because of her authenticity, flexibility, kindness, and reliable communication. Whether you’re publishing your first book or tenth, I would absolutely recommend her services.

Alexa is so much more than just an editor. She’s the biggest cheerleader & supporter for her clients. She goes to bat for us at every turn & is always a resource and shoulder to lean on. She truly goes above & beyond to help us produce the best possible stories for the world to read. She’s a champion for us authors and I feel so honored to have her as part of my team. Her skills and support are truly invaluable.

Working with Alexa is like being able to take that final breath of relief. Knowing that her careful eye is looking over my manuscripts is the reassurance and confidence I need as an independently published author. From re-working and perfecting already published books of mine like Heartless Heathens, to handling the new projects like Crossed Over and False Start, The Fiction Fix has been a crucial component in my publishing career.
